COLUMBIA, SC — Richland Treasurer David Adams was tapped this week as president-elect of the S.C. Auditors Treasurers and Tax Collectors.
Adams will take over as president in April 2015, becoming the first Richland County official to be an officer of SCATT since 1998, according to a Friday news release.
He led an hour-long discussion on innovations at the state meeting of county treasurers this week in Columbia.
For the past three years, Adams has served as co-chairman of a legislative committee, helping guide the first comprehensive changes to tax-sale policies in decades. This year, he’s helping coordinate the association’s three-year effort to modernize property-tax laws, the release from his office said.
Adams has been the county treasurer since 2003.
