In 2017, Richland Library won the National Medal for Museum and Library Service – the highest national honor a library can earn. Richland Library was one of 10 institutions nationwide to receive the award in 2017 and the only one in South Carolina.
The Richland Library system has 12 easily accessible locations throughout the County that provide state-of-the-art amenities, helpful and creative programming, friendly staff and limitless resources. In 2013, Richland County voters approved a $59-million bond referendum to increase the library's budget for renovations and repairs.
