Event Overview
National County Government Month (NCGM) is celebrated each April by the
nation’s counties to raise public awareness and understanding about the roles
and responsibilities of county government. As part of NCGM, Richland County is
extending this invitation for citizens to meet County Council Members and tour
Richland County’s historic Township Auditorium.

For eighty years, the Township Auditorium has been known as “South Carolina’s
Original Showplace.” In 2010, the building underwent a multi-million dollar face
lift and now boasts state of the art sound and lighting, repaired elevators and an
expanded atrium lobby. The newly renovated Township Auditorium is a community
jewel; allowing visitors to experience all the modern conveniences while paying homage to the past.
