(Richland PIO) – If you’re looking to serve your community, Richland County’s Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC) has job opportunities available.
Those interested in the field of corrections are encouraged to attend a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at 201 John Mark Dial Drive, Columbia. It’s a chance to meet the ASGDC staff, get a firsthand look at the facility, and have your questions answered.
The detention center invites anyone devoted to public safety, institutional safety and delivering a constitutional level of service to apply. Roles available include:

- Summary Court Law Clerk: Performs responsible, specialized clerical duties to support Court Administration operations; maintains accurate and updated case files and records; and assists in the courtroom as necessary.
New hires are eligible to receive $5,000 in bonus pay plus an additional $5,000 after their first year of service. Interested applicants may pre-apply online on the County’s website or in person on the day of the event.
