(Richland PIO) – Shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC) staff received notification that a detainee had escaped the custody of Bryan Psychiatric Hospital. The ASGDC staff promptly alerted the Richland County Sheriff's Department (RCSD) about the incident.

In response to the situation, the RCSD has entered the information into the National Crime Information Center, enabling other law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for the escaped detainee.

As of now, the information available is preliminary, and the County is awaiting an incident report from Bryan Psychiatric Hospital.
