Richland County Council voted to allocate Community Impact Grant funding to 37 nonprofits during its regular meeting Tuesday, Sept. 19, ahead of an Oct. 1 deadline. Funding totaled $1.785 million and is for the current fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
County staff is notifying grant recipients of their award amounts and requirements. The complete list of recipients can be found here.
This is the first year of this program, in which qualifying organizations can apply for up to $50,000 for a single year of funding. The grants are part of Council’s efforts to encourage organizations and agencies to continue offering innovative and needed services that enhance residents’ quality of life.
Applicants are selected by the County’s Community Impact Grant Committee, which reviews scores and recommendations of applications by Guidehouse, a third-party entity that evaluates proposed projects based on project summary, project impact, organizational background and budget.
