Richland County Councilmembers Jesica Mackey, District 9, Cheryl English, District, 10, and Chakisse Newton, District 11, are partnering with Richland Library to distribute more than 5,000 disposable face masks within their districts.
The distribution is intended as an extra measure of protection in the fight against COVID-19.
Starting Monday, March 1, customers can receive masks while using library services at the following locations:
Masks are available on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.
"Richland Library is committed to keeping people informed and providing access to critical resources amid the pandemic," said Melanie Huggins, Richland Library executive director. "Wearing masks is as important now as ever to the safety and health of our communities. We are proud to partner with elected officials and neighboring organizations to remind residents that we care and we are supportive during this difficult time."
The partnership is part of a larger effort to help residents follow Richland County’s mask ordinance, which requires most people older than 10 to wear face coverings in public. To learn more, click here.
