Richland County is planning a series of Engage Richland events and activities to celebrate the year 2020, which also corresponds to the street address for the County Administration Building.
The 2020@2020: A Yearlong Engage Richland Experience kicks off in January. Engage Richland is a year-round series of public events that encourages residents to learn about their local government through community meetings, hands-on demonstrations, workshops, facility tours and more.
Local government affects residents’ daily lives more than any other level of government, and the 2020@2020 initiative seeks to inspire public interaction with the County. Events will include a local government open house, a meet-and-greet with elected officials and a local business showcase.
In addition to activities for residents, the initiative will encourage County employees to give back to the community through volunteer work and charitable campaigns.
The Administration Building at 2020 Hampton St., Columbia, will be the host location for many, but not all, of the activities.
