Join the ongoing conversation about the future of Richland County by attending an upcoming public meeting and giving feedback on draft regulations on land use, growth and development.
The County is holding two “Code Discussions” meetings as part of its PLAN TOGETHER project. The goal of PLAN TOGETHER is for the Land Development Code to reflect the County’s Comprehensive Plan by making it user friendly, align with contemporary zoning practices, support transit and protect and enhance existing neighborhoods. In 2015, the County adopted an updated Comprehensive Plan to guide future growth and development. Since then, the County has been rewriting the zoning ordinance and land development regulations to align with the goals and objectives of the Comprehensive Plan.
The meetings will provide an overview of the first installment of the draft Land Development Code regulations. Attendees will have an opportunity to comment and ask questions. Both meetings will present the same information. Residents should attend the one that is most convenient. The Monday meeting also will be streamed live.
The meetings will be held:
- 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, in Council Chambers at the Richland County Administration Building, 2020 Hampton St. This meeting will be streamed live at www.richlandcountysc.gov.
- 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the Community Room of Richland County Central Court at the Decker Center, 2500 Decker Blvd.
The second installment of the draft regulations is expected to be completed this summer.
