McEntire Produce, a fresh produce processor, re-packer and wholesaler, will expand its current operations in Richland County.
The $8 million investment is expected to generate 21 new jobs.
About 40 percent of McEntire’s business comes from McDonald’s. McEntire serves McDonald’s restaurants in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida.
“McEntire’s latest expansion is a testament to our strong business environment,” said Richland County Councilman Paul Livingston, Chair of Council’s Economic Development Committee.
McEntire Produce has operated in Richland County since 1938 and has grown to become the largest, family-owned, fresh produce processor in the Southeast. The company added a state-of-the-art water filtration system as part of its expansion in 2012.
“We hope the company will continue to thrive for another 80 years,” Livingston said.
