Film manufacturer Charter NEX Films (charternex.com) is soon constructing a 140,000-square-foot facility expected to bring an $85-million capital investment and 110 new jobs to Richland County.

Charter NEX Films is building the facility at Carolina Pines Industrial Park on Farrow Road in Blythewood, in northeast Richland County. The company is North America’s leading independent producer of high-performance specialty films used in flexible packaging and other critical performance applications. Charter NEX Film products are utilized for a variety of applications, including food, medical and protective purposes.
“The 110 jobs that this investment will create for South Carolinians clearly show Charter NEX’s commitment to our state and our people,” said South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster. “We are grateful that this great company has decided to choose South Carolina for its new location, and we look forward to the future prosperity that we know will come from this partnership.”
