The 8th Annual Summer Celebration of Water has been rescheduled and will take place Saturday, Sept. 16.
This family friendly, water-themed festival at the Columbia Canal includes a water obstacle course, fishing tips, kids’ activities and a historical nature walk – all focusing on the importance of protecting local waterways and keeping water sources clean, swimmable and fishable.
Volunteers are needed to help with the event, including guest registration, attendee surveys and vendor activities. The festival is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Volunteers will be asked to work three-hour shifts beginning at 9 a.m., and they will receive a T-shirt and lunch.
To volunteer, contact Chenille Williams, Education Program Coordinator for Richland County Stormwater Management, at williamsc3@rcgov.us or 803-576-2491. For more information about the 8th Annual Summer Celebration of Water, visit SummerCelebrationofWater.com.
