LuLaRoe, a national provider of women’s and men’s clothing, is opening a distribution center in Northeast Richland.
The project is expected to bring about $35 million of new capital investment to Richland County and create at least 1,000 new jobs over the next few years. Founded in 2013 by DeAnne and Mark Stidham in Corona, Calif., LuLaRoe clothing is sold by more than 80,000 independent retailers nationwide.
“Richland County is thrilled to welcome LuLaRoe to our community,” said Richland County Council Chair Joyce Dickerson, District 2. “The addition of these quality new jobs is another example of the results of investing in our infrastructure, schools and neighborhoods.”
The company wanted to open a distribution facility on the east coast to better serve independent fashion retailers east of the Mississippi River by providing easier access to LuLaRoe’s products and to reduce shipping times.
“After evaluating our options, we selected South Carolina because of its central location and strong workforce to support our company’s growing needs,” said LuLaRoe CEO Mark Stidham. “We look forward to becoming a member of this great community and welcoming our future workforce into the LuLaRoe family.”
The company’s new facility, at 2000 Carolina Pines Drive near Blythewood, is expected to open by June at the former Bose plant. Hiring for the new positions is underway. Interested applicants should send resumes to lularoeblythewood@ultimatestaffing.com.
