From land zoning to business licenses, an upcoming free workshop will provide the information residents need to successfully complete planning projects in Richland County.
“Roadmap to Success: Where to Begin Project Planning in Richland County?” is offered by Richland County Community Development as a free resource for developers, nonprofits and any resident preparing to begin a land or property project.
“It can be a daunting task to put the pieces together when planning a project for the good of your community,” said Community Development Director Valeria Jackson. “This workshop will provide guidance on where to start and will show you how to make the vision a well-planned reality.”
Whether opening a youth center, developing multi-family housing units or renovating a building, this free workshop will help those who attend learn the steps required to successfully take the project from start to finish. Representatives from various Richland County departments will discuss land planning, zoning, building inspections, business licenses and more.
The workshop is 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Friday July 8 in Room 4072 of the Richland County Administration Building, 2020 Hampton St., Columbia. Those interested in attending are asked to please RSVP by 5 p.m. Friday, July 1 to W. Clay Shell at 803-576-2048 or shellc@rcgov.us.
