What: Public hearing on potential Transportation sales and use tax
When: 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 9
Where: Richland County Administration Building (2nd-floor Council Chambers), 2020 Hampton St., Columbia
Richland County Council will hold this public hearing regarding a Transportation Sales Tax referendum. If passed, this referendum would authorize a 1 percent transportation sales and use tax.
Residents are welcome to comment in person at the public hearing by signing up in Council Chambers just before the meeting or virtually by emailing the Clerk of Council in writing by 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 3. Please include your name, physical address and email address. Instructions for participation in the public hearing will be emailed before the public hearing.
In lieu of speaking at the public hearing, residents may submit written comments to the Clerk of Council’s office. Please include your name, physical address and email address, and email the Clerk of Council no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, July 8. Written comments will be provided to County Council.
Individuals who require a disability-related modification or accommodation to effectively participate in and communicate regarding the public hearing should contact the Clerk of Council’s office in person, by email, or by phone at 803-576-2061 or TDD at 803-576-2045 no later than 48 hours before the July 9 hearing.
