Street Name Signs
RDM employees fabricate and install street name signs within the public and private road network of unincorporated Richland County and in small municipality areas covered by an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA). Installation shall be in accordance with Section 21-10 of the Richland County Code of Ordinances and meet established regulatory standards and placed to permit adequate visibility and in a manner that provides clear and efficient direction to the motorist.
Street name signs for public roads shall be white reflective letters on a green background.
Street name signs for private roads shall be white reflective letters on a blue background.
Overhanging branches that obscure sign visibility shall be trimmed or removed. Signs shall be kept free of mold and dirt that reduce their reflectivity and cleaned or replaced as needed. Downed STOP signs that are County responsibilities shall be considered an emergency and replaced within two hours following notification.
