Learn about real-world cover cropping and no-till in a corn/soybean system from Jason Carter. See how different crop management strategies affect water infiltration, runoff, and erosion in a rainfall simulator. Practice using tools and techniques to measure and monitor soil health in your fields, including penetrometers, soil moisture sensors, EC meters, pH meters, and cover crop biomass estimates. Hear the latest findings from soil health research and demonstration trails supported by a USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service Conservation Innovation Grant.
Speakers include Jason Carter (Carter Farms), Dr. Dara Park (Clemson University), Dr. Buz Kloot (University of SC), Gordon Mikell (USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service), and Chris Workman (SC-Department of Natural Resources).
