Richland Soil and Water Conservation District Staff
Administrative Assistant of Outreach and Community Engagement
Tell us about yourself.
I received my B.A. in Language and International Trade from Clemson University and my M.F.A. in Film-Television from Regent University. My role with Richland County’s Conservation Division encompasses digital marketing and community outreach. I am passionate about education through storytelling and consider it a privilege to engage with the District’s audience each day and share conservation knowledge and resources.
Why did you join the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (RSWCD)?
As I mentioned, I am passionate about education and storytelling. In my role, I encourage and educate Richland County residents on the importance of preserving and protecting our limited natural resources.
What do you enjoy about RSWCD?
I enjoy going out into the community and meeting Richland County residents. Whether I am instructing students on conservation practices or giving away free seeds to community members, it’s always great to meet new people, learn from them, and give them free information or resources. Colleagues and I have joked we are like Santa Claus because we give so much away and are happy to do it!
What do you wish to tell the community?
Take advantage of the free and low-cost resources the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District offers! The District provides educational programming for students, funding for conservation projects, incentives for high school students, low-cost equipment rentals, and tons more! Check out our website www.richlandcountysc.gov/rswcd for more details!
What is an interesting fact about you?
I love learning languages and watching international television shows!
