Description: The Agritourism Intern will assist the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District with the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Richland County Ag + Art Tour. The Intern will work approximately 20 hours/week from May 15 through August 15, 2024.
Location: Richland County Administration Building at 2020 Hampton St., Room 3063A, Columbia, SC 29204 with some off-site duties.
Primary Tasks:
- Assist with planning and preparations for the 2024 Richland County Ag + Art Tour
- Assist with tourism-related data collection at Richland County Ag + Art Tour sites
- Assist with the development and deployment of program evaluation tools for the Richland County Ag + Art Tour
- Provide logistical support to Ag + Art Tour sites, artisans, and volunteers
- Digitize, organize, analyze, and summarize Ag + Art Tour participation, marketing, and evaluation data
- Present Ag + Art Tour participation, marketing, and evaluation data to stakeholders in a variety of multimedia formats
- Participate in relevant trainings and professional development opportunities
Required Qualifications: Interest in agriculture, tourism, conservation, natural resources, sustainability, and/or environmental science; excellent data collection, organization, and analysis skills; excellent communication skills; background in environmental sciences, natural resources management, sustainability, agriculture, tourism, and/or related fields; stable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, including experience interacting and working with diverse communities, neighborhoods, and populations; current undergraduate or graduate student, or equivalent work experience.
Compensation: $16.83/hour for up to 20 hours/week. Work-related travel will be reimbursed.
