Registration Form
Are you interested in environmental education or youth outreach? If so, please join us for a Project Learning Tree Training at USC on Saturday, October 12 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an award winning environmental education program that uses the forest as a window into natural and built environments. Since its introduction in 1973, PLT has become one of the most widely used environmental education programs in the world. Over 16,600 South Carolina teachers have received training in PLT since the State Department of Education initiated PLT in 1980.
Workshop participants will receive hands-on training for activities correlated to state and national curriculum standards in science, social studies, language arts, and math, along with the 474-page PreK-8 PLT Activity Guide featuring more than 96 hands-on, minds-on activities to teach critical thinking and problem solving skills. At the end of the workshop, participants will become Certified PLT Educators.
The workshop is free for University students with a student ID and $20 for all other participants. Lunch will be provided. Space is limited and participants
must register in advance.
The workshop is sponsored by Sustainable Carolina, the Richland Countywide Stormwater Consortium, and the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District. For more information, contact Charlie Fisher at the Conservation District at (803) 576-2080 or fisherc@rcgov.us.
