Columbia, SC—The Richland Soil and Water Conservation District is offering mini-grants (up to $250) to support conservation projects and youth environmental education initiatives at Richland County K-12 schools. Faculty and staff members of public, private, and alternative schools in Richland County are eligible to apply.
Two award cycles are available: applications received by October 15, 2013 will be considered for fall 2013 funding; applications received by February 15, 2014 will be considered for spring 2014 funding. Project work and the expenditure of funds must be completed by June 30, 2014.

This is the third year the District has offered mini-grants; past awards have supported projects including school gardening and the development of school nature trails and outdoor classrooms.
