  On April 25, 2017, Susan Bell Leitner decided to pursue her dream of beginning her own business and successfully established LG Utility Contractors, Inc. LG Utility Contractors, Inc. is a small, women owned utility construction company and is a licensed General Contractor WL4 specializing in the construction of water, sanitary sewer, and storm drain lines.

Since its inception, LG Utility Contractors, Inc. has been approved as a Protégé to participate in the City of Columbia’s Mentor Protégé Program and obtained several local certifications. They are certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Small and Minority Business Contracting and Certification (SMBCC), Columbia Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (CDBE) and was certified as a Richland County Small and Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) on June 18, 2020.

They are currently performing work as a subcontractor for the installation of main lines, valves, fittings, meters, fire hydrants, and all appurtenances for water mains.
